Why Talivio Technology Incorporated in Estonia

When we decided to build a European SaaS portfolio, the answer for where to incorporate was straightforward: Estonia. Here's why three Turkish developers chose Tallinn as their legal home.

On May 20, 2024, Talivio Technology OÜ was officially entered into the Estonian Business Register (registry code 16991406) at Ahtri tn 12, Tallinn. The three co-founders — Eren Bostan, Hakan Iyice, and Ulaş Ziya Terzioğlu — had been building software together for years, but this moment made it official.

We weren't in Estonia. We were building software remotely. So why Estonia?

Digital-First by Design

Estonia has spent thirty years building a digital government that actually works. Every business interaction — registration, filing, banking, signing documents — happens online. For a company whose entire operation exists in code, this felt like the natural environment. There's no paperwork that requires a physical presence, no notary visits, no bureaucracy that punishes remote teams.

Estonia's e-Residency program let us incorporate, open a business bank account, and operate a fully legal EU company without ever needing to permanently relocate. The legal weight of an Estonian OÜ (Osaühing — a private limited company) is identical to any other EU limited company.

GDPR Is Not Optional for SaaS

When you build software for businesses across Europe, Turkey, and beyond, GDPR compliance isn't a checkbox — it's a foundation. Incorporating in Estonia means our company is EU-domiciled from day one. Our infrastructure spans Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Tallinn data centres. Every product we build is architected with data residency and privacy as defaults, not afterthoughts.

This matters to enterprise customers. When they evaluate a SaaS vendor, "Estonian OÜ, GDPR-compliant infrastructure, EU data centres" is a shorter conversation than trying to explain a complex offshore structure.

The Tech Ecosystem

Tallinn is a serious tech city. It's home to Transferwise (now Wise), Pipedrive, Bolt, and dozens of successful SaaS companies. The infrastructure knowledge, the legal services familiar with tech startups, and the general density of people who understand what you're building — these things compound over time.

Our Tallinn address (Ahtri tn 12) sits close to the Ülemiste City tech campus. We may not have a physical office there yet, but being in the same legal jurisdiction as Estonia's most successful software companies feels right.

What This Means for Our Products

Every Talivio product — from Relativo (CRM) to MOSA (secure networking) — is built by an EU-registered company with a GDPR-compliant legal foundation. Our customers in Turkey, Europe, and beyond can work with us under a predictable legal framework.

The principal activity registered is Computer programming activities (EMTAK 62101). That's it. No consulting, no hardware, no ambiguity. We write software and ship products. That's what Talivio Technology OÜ exists to do.
